Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The capital hosted thousands of competitors and visitors at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi in October 2017  (WSAD2017) - the first time that the world championships of vocational skills held in the Middle East.


The WorldSkills competition is the largest global vocational education and skills excellence event, which brought together the very best practitioners from more than 70 WorldSkills Member countries and regions. Over four days, around 1,300 competitors competed showcased their abilities in 51 categories under six overarching Skills sectors ranging from carpentry to mobile robotics, and from floristry to aircraft maintenance.
