A. Curricular Load
The Internship duration is eight weeks of fulltime work (320 working hours); comprising an equivalent of 425 class periods. This load constitutes a significant portion of the entire program of study. Accordingly, the Student Service Manager shall issue an annual IIT timeline to be included in the Institute’s academic calendar. The timeline must specify curricular and administrative milestones which assure successful delivery of the internship.

B. Professional Conduct
Since Industrial Internship Training is an academic program, the student must abide by the professional conduct stipulated by the Institute; according to which the student-intern shall observe the following:

  • Comply with workplace rules and regulations (e.g., hours of work, holidays, and dress code, etc.);
  • Exert his utmost to maintain and enhance his professional effectiveness by improving his skills and acquiring new knowledge;
  • Seek evaluations or feedback from his industrial supervisor, and attempt corrective changes in behavior;
  • Immediately notify IIT coordinator if a serious problem arises;
  • Refrain from conducting personal business during work hours, such as utilizing cell phone or company resources (e.g., telephones, photocopy, internet and facsimile machines);
  • Strive to be honest, trustworthy, fair, considerate, and positive team member;
  • Carry out all assignments and responsibilities in a reliable and efficient manner.
  • Adopt a professional work ethic characterized by use of sound theoretical principles and a unblemished personal value system;
  • Complete all IIT academic assignments (i.e., logbook entries, report preparation, and seminar presentations) in a professional and scholarly manner and adhere to appropriate applicable deadlines;
  • Treat all workplace documents, procedures and information as confidential, and secures company’s release of his final report.


C.Stipend
Since the internship is a curricular activity, the Institute shall pay each student the regular allowance for the entire internship duration (2 months). IAT does not require industrial partners to pay wages for interns; however, partners are encouraged to provide additional reward to their respective student interns in accordance with applicable procedure.
